Each student who receives special education services gets an IEP or individualized education program/plan. It tells you pretty much everything about the student--cognitive, social, academic functioning, health problems, medications, present levels of educational performance, what services they require, etc. writing the iep is a huge process because you have to formally meet with a bunch of people including parents, gen ed. teachers, special ed. teachers, administrators, psychologists, counselors, etc., then write this huuuge document. every year it's reviewed and every 3 years teh student is re-evaluated (but they can be re-evaluated anytime if someone requests it)...craziiiinesss! how's CASE?
